Curse of the Mommy Feet !

I'm wondering how many other women have this same problem as me? I know most of my friends still suffer with this curse too so is it nationwide?
It seems like having a baby affects women's feet for the rest of our lives!

Pre Children i wore heels pretty much all the time. Then when pregnant i changed to flats. That was the end of heels for me :(
You can understand it at first, comfort and everything but now my youngest is 3 i have no excuse.

Don't get me wrong i wouldn't venture a girls night out without a sexy pair of heels ( Vodka seems to numb the pain a little ). The next day however my feet hurt like crazy all day. As for day time Chic It's just disappeared completely.
I watched in envy over winter time when girls wandered around in fur topped ankle boots with heels while i wore my uggs constantly day in day out.

I thought I'd compromise and buy wedges. Surely this is the answer? Everyone says they are comfy but no i just can't get use to wearing anything but uggs, sandals and flats. Will i ever be able to boost my 5ft2 height again without being in pain?

I purchased these wedges when i was in Las Vegas and at first try they felt really comfy but after an hr i was just so uncomfy that i swapped back to my flip flops.

However i am refusing to give in. No pain no gain so they say. I am going to try and ween myself back into heels. Wearing them for an hr a day and building it up until i hopefully get back into the high heeled clan.

After all High heels make legs look longer and walking in them actually really works the legs and bum which is another bonus to wearing them.
What do you think? Will this work or am i destined to be a shorty forever?

Ooh Ooh Orange !

This summer Bright colours are where it's at. For me it's all about the Orange.
Except for the tan of course :)
This week i have been wearing Illamasqua Flare lipstick which is about as bright orange as you can get.
At £15.50 it's not cheap but the colour is really beautiful and easy to pull off if you keep the rest of your makeup quite simple.

On my nails for the past 2 days i've been wearing GOSH Peachy. A gorgeous bright sunny orange. Sadly i cant get the true colour to show on the photos but think zingy almost neon bright peach.

Just £5 from Superdrug
As well as orange im looking forward to wearing Lime green, Vivid corals and Yellow on my nails this year. What about you?

For The Woman Who Likes MOR !

Every once in a while i come across a range of products that for me have the WOW factor. I don't know if it's just me but as soon as i read a review on this range i was intrigued.
The stunning packaging immediately drew me in and the delectable sounding array of fragrances. For me the whole range oozes style and grown up glamour, perfect for the girl who has everything.

Mor Cosmetics is an Australian Brand that has recently been launched over here in the UK. The range consists of over 150 products with various collections including the Emporium Black collection and little luxuries.

Snow Gardenia Hand Cream

Royal Mulberry Body Butter

The lip balms in the tins are just adorable. This one pictured here is Lychee Flower and its the Best lip balm I've tried. Gorgeous.

Marshmallow Body Butter

Its rare that a company get both the packaging and the product so spot on so these are my new found Love Affair products.
Fragrances include Italian Blood Orange, Cassis noir and Sugar Rose Tiger Lily to name a few. Each one unusual and carefully blended. My favourite so far has to be Marshmallow, it's such a beautiful soft , sweet and almost baby power lingering smell. I tried the body body but think i can see a perfume purchase coming on.

I will do a separate review of the products i was sent as there is too much to say in one post but lets just say i wasn't disappointed.
I would love to know if you have tried any of these products yet?

Julie Hewett Cosmetics ! Pic Heavy

I love to check out new products ( as you might of guessed ) so when i was asked if i would like to review some of the Julie
hewett range i jumped at the chance. Have you heard of this range before? I hadn't so did a quick read up to see what the products were all about.

Julie Hewett is a makeup artist with over 20 years experience. The range of products look to be really impressive with lots of pretty looking colours and textures.
Now for the fun part testing out my goodies:

I was sent a pot of cheeky cheek and lip shine in the shade Peachy £20
A pot of Shimmy Face & Body Shimmer in Pinky £20
A refill Shimmy Pan in Goldie £7.50
A refill Cheeky pan in Rosie £7.50

The cheekies are meant for cheeks and lips and the shimmy can be used as a multi purpose product for eyes, cheeks, highlighter and even on the body.

Swatches of the pinky shimmy and peachy cheeky
Pretty and sheer

I am wearing the cheeky on my lips and cheeks and the shimmy on the inner eye corners. The cheek and lip shine is sheer but buildable. Perfect for a fresh and natural look. The formula is really moisturising on the lips and so easy to apply. The quality is brilliant on these two products I'm seriously impressed. I'm now wondering what the other products are like ?

Shimmy in pinky gives a pretty sparkle to the inner corners. A little mascara and its easy eyes completed :)

The Cheekie in peachy looks so glowy and fresh. I love it.

If you are a bargain hunter like me you might have noticed the difference in price between the refills and the pots. At just £7.50 these are a serious bargain and great if you buy the little palette for travelling about.

Swatches of Cheekie in Rosie and Shimmy in Goldie

I have used goldie as a highlighter on my cheek bones on top of peachy and then applied Rosie on my lips. The Cheekie works so well on the lips. Almost like a lip stain but yet it still has a pretty shine.

Messy updo completes the look.

For summer make up these fit the bill perfectly. A range that would be suitable for all ages and so easy to use. I will be packing these in my holiday case for sure.
If you want to check out the full range over at Cocktail Cosmetics you wont be disappointed.

NARS Marta Hari Blush

Hey ladies, just a little post as i have been so busy this weekend. I have had this a few weeks now and its so beautiful that i had to share it with you. This photographs really badly in real life its a lot brighter almost doll pink.

Marta Hari is a matte bright pink with an almost plum tinge when its applied on my skin. I have been wearing it so much. Beautiful and natural in the day for a fresh minimal makeup look or layered on at night for a real pinched cheeks look.
For evening i like to add a highlighter as i just don't feel right without a little bit of shimmer on a night out. Its by far my favourite blush at the moment.

Nars blushers are always raved about and with this little beauty i can understand why. I've also ordered sin so i will update you on that when it arrives. What do you think? Do you have either of these blushers and do you think Nars lives up to the hype?

Battle of the Blackest!

When you think how many black eyeliners there are on the market its unsurprising that some of them can let us down a bit in terms of colour payoff and lasting ability. I'm not talking about about liquids or gels but a good black eyeliner pencil is probably many a girls best friend, so i thought I'd show you my favourites.

My 5 Faves

Swatches Top: Avon Supershock £6
                2nd: Barry M Intense eyeliner Black £3.99
Middle: Urban Decay 24/7 Zero £13.00
Gosh: Velvet Touch liner black ink £4.49
Bottom: Prestige Total intensity Deepest Black £5.49

Avon Supershock is my latest purchase and it hasn't let me down. Beautiful rich deep black which is so easy to apply and even lasts well on the waterline. At just £6 it is a bargain and i really do prefer it over my Urban Decay 24/7 liner.

Long Term Love Affair is with Prestige Intensity. The bottom swatch. This is the Blackest out of all 5 liners. Perfect for a really dramatic look. It also lasts like crazy. Once its on it doesn't move. I even find it to be waterproof so perfect for holidays. Again a bargain price at just £5.49

Do you have a favourite black eyeliner? Do you stick to the same brand or are you always searching for the perfect one ???

A Scent for Summer!

Morning girlies. Summer has officially hit my garden this week with the sun shining brightly it makes me feel all happy and fuzzy.
I have a perfect Summer fragrance which i was sent for review purposes which i have been using everyday since receiving.

Issey Miyake A Scent

The product is described as:
A green and feminine fragrance. A fresh signature scent, drawing inspiration from nature's essentials: leaves, flowers, wood. A green, floral, woody fragrance.

For me personally. I really enjoy wearing this scent as an everyday perfume. Its fresh, uplifting. Its nothing like the other Issey Miyake fragrances that Ive tried before. Its much fresher, lighter and a pleasant surprise as to be honest I'm not a huge fan of some of the other Issey Miyake fragrances.

Top Notes: Verbena
Heart Notes: Hyacinth and jasmine
Base Notes: Galbanum

The bottle itself is lovely. Heavy solid and classy looking. Its taken pride of place on my dressing table as i only like to have one bottle out at a time. I keep the rest tucked away in a pretty box.

The Fragrance also has a range of enhancing body products. A shower  gel, body lotion and deodorant so if you are a lady that likes to layer then this is perfect.

If you are looking for a subtle, fresh, grown up fragrance then give this a try. I could smell the green fresh hit immediately which dried down to a soft almost powderery floral which is really delicate and pretty.

Available from Escentual.com who have the fragrance at a massive discount price at the moment.

30ml £16.50 instead of the RRP £30.64
50ml £25.00 instead of the RRP £47.49
100ml £33.50 instead of the RRP £68.43

A Bargain in my eyes. Have you tried this fragrance for yourself and if so what do you think?

Lady or a Tramp?

Well hello everybody, thanks so much for all your birthday wishes yesterday. I had a lovely day with a bit of shopping, lots of eating and relaxing in the lovely sunshine. I didn't end up buying much as i didn't really see much i wanted so will spend my birthday money on a little online spend.

I did get some lovely flowers from my dad and we went out to Nandos for a nice meal too.
I will do a later post on what i end up buying.

Anyway on Sunday i went to the local Car boot sale and picked up a couple of bits which i thought id show you. I Love Car boot sales. My friends all laugh at me and say its very trampish ha. I don't care at all, in fact i think i will look rather like a lady in this little outfit that i managed to scoop up.

Top Shop Dress £60 New and never worn i paid £8

Shoes worn once £2
( I thought they would suit the dress perfectly )

Then i nipped into boots and picked up this Stunning polish. Its such a pretty colour

No7 Damson Dream £7

Do you like my bargainishious outfit and do you like to pick up a bargain at the car boot or avoid them like the plague?

Hello to the Birthday Girl!

Hello my gorgeous readers. Today is my birthday. I'm 36 today Yaaay. So i thought id forget the makeup, skincare, eating healthy for just one day.
Thanks so much guys for sticking with me and my little blog. I cant believe how much its grown and without you lovely lot it just wouldn't be the same.

Birthdays always make think a bit deeper than normal. Life moves on, we all get older and sometimes wiser. Ahhem :)
Anyway today i will leave you with a few little pics that i adore:

Last but not least my favourite saying of all :
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up - totally worn out and screaming "whoo hoo what a ride'!

Now i'm off for a little shopping and some chocolate.

Enjoy your day xxx

Liz Earle Shampoo & Conditioner

Good Morning lovely ladies. Oooh another Liz Earle review for you. This time its for the Shampoo & Conditioner which i have been eager to get hold of after reading lots of good reviews when it was first launched.

As always the products come beautifully wrapped in tissue paper

I received the Botanical Shine Shampoo and the Botanical Shine Conditioner for fine or oily hair. I really like the fact that you have a choice of 3 conditioners the other 2 are more suited to normal hair or dry/damaged hair.

Botanical Shine Shampoo 200ml £7.65

A very gentle but thorough shampoo loaded with natural Vitamin E, West African Shea Butter and shine boosting Apple and Orange extracts. Of course there are no nasty chemicals which is to be expected with all Liz Earle products.
I really love the fragrance of this shampoo. You can smell the zingy orange and apple which is really refreshing and it feels lovely and soothing on my scalp.
Leaves my hair sooo shiny and feels fresh for ages after using. The smell is very subtle once rinsed but it does linger for a little while. Would i buy this again YES

Botanical Shine Conditioner for Oily Hair 200ml £7.65

The website states:
With black cohosh, yangu oil, blue seakale and shine-boosting apple and orange extracts, our ultra-light, finely balanced colour safe conditioner leaves oily, dull, limp or lifeless hair shiny, volumised and full of life.

This Conditioner does exactly that. It again smells amazing, feels extremely light and leaves my hair really shiny, weightless, full of volume.
I suffer with oily roots and dry ends. So the problem for me is while this conditioner is perfect for everyday use it just isn't rich enough for my dry ends.

However this is my awkward hair type rather than the product in question. I might try the conditioner for dry/damaged hair and use it alternate washes or once a week.
I wonder is Liz Earle will bring out a weekly hair treatment mask? That would be fantastic.

Since using these i have had no itchy scalp which was sometimes a problem in the past and it was very gentle on my coloured hair. If you haven't tried these yet then i would give them a shot.

Liz Earle have an offer on at the moment where you can buy any 3 hair products for £19.95 and get free Postage and Packaging
Ideal for those of you who already use and love the range and need to stock up. ( I know there are quite a few fans out there )

Don't forget to check out my Liz Earle giveaway too. Link on the right hand side photo. xx
