Orly Birds Of A Feather Collection!

Lately i have been going au natural on my nails because they were so short that i just didnt want to draw attention to them but luckily for me they are now back to a decent length and i have been dying to try out some new vivid colours.
Orly's Autumn/Winter collection Birds Of A Feather fits the bill perfectly with its gorgeous array of Irridesent and strong shades which were inspired by the colours and tones of birds such as the peacock.

Sweet Peacock is a stunning glisening blue shade which catches the light beautifully.

Sweet Peacock     Lucky Duck       Peachy Parrot         Nite Owl             Sea Gurl          Fowl Play

For me the stand out shade has to be Fowl Play. It is a multidimentional colour that has chunks of glitter and is beyond gorgeous, take a look:

3 Coats gives a full coverage and dense glitter effect!

Another great wear to wear these is to try layering as i did here with the first swatch.
1 Coat of Sweet Peacock & 2 Coats of Fowl Play. I love the effect and this is the combination i will be wearing the most.

Available from Beautybay  priced at just £6.95 i think these are a complete bargain.
Orly have seriously come up trumps with this collection. Have you tried any of the shades yet?

BeetleJuice is in the building!

I don't often see a collection where i love the look of each polish but this is an exception. I am even going to break my no more buying polish rule and treat myself to a few of these. After all at £5 each they are a complete bargain.

I can't tell you how much i adore the look of these polishes, i just hope they live up to the images and the multi dimensional tones are really as vivid in real life.

The collection takes inspiration from the wings of a beetle, hence the name Beetle juice and what great timing with all the Halloween festivities for the launch of these mysterious shades.

If i had to choose a favourite I'd struggle but I'm guessing third in line Pinky brown but I'm intrigued to see the Emerald Black at the end as I'm guessing it will be stunning in real life.

Launching online November www.modelsownit.com
Do you like the look of this collection and which is your favourite?

Perfect Polish Storage!

I have a rather nice collection of nail polishes which is ever growing and while i love my choice of different colours i get a bit irritated by my lack of storage space. I did have them all nice and neat in a big case but it means they have to be laid down which is no good really.
Also my collection had simply outgrown the space.

Therefore i am seriously excited about my new Nail Polish stand. Priced at £26.99 with free delivery
Take a look at this little Beauty. (Or should i say Big Beauty)

The stand itself comes in a choice of Classic White, Black or a pretty soft pink colour. When it arrives you simply need to push the back stand on and the few studs that clip into place and voila its ready to go.

This stand is quite big which is perfect for me but they also sell a smaller 4 tier stand that retails at £22.99 here .
The product also comes with the attachments and pre made holes so it can be wall mounted which will save loads of space.
I plan on buying another one and having two wall mounted ones in my dressing room. That way i can continue getting more gorgeous polishes without the fear of lack of space ha.

I tried all my different polish brands and all of them fit really well on the stand Including OPI, Creative, Essie, Nubar, China Glaze, Barry M.

It even fits Creative, Ciate and other slim polishes sideways on so you can fit nearly twice as much on if you want to display them that way.

I tried displaying them by brands together or colour grouping them together. I love the fact that they will be out on display rather than tucked away out of sight. Lets face it most of us who collect polishes will never use them all up so we might as well display the pretty ones.

I found i could fit 60 polishes on this stand if i turned some of them sideways like in the photos which is brilliant. Unfortunately i had to admit to my husband that i have more than 60 polishes in my collection (Blushes) I don't think he will ever understand why i will always need more :)

I don't have a lot of Mac pigments but i know some of you do and this would be perfect for storing those as well.
I hope you enjoyed this post and if you need some polish storage then check these out here.
Have a great day xx

Beauty UK Polish in Jade !

Just a quick post today to show you the Beauty UK nail polish in Jade. Its such a pretty colour although its much more of an aqua blue/green rather than jade in my opinion.

I just happen to love this colour and ive had a few compliments today which is always nice.
I was lucky enough to win this as part of my prize a few months ago when i won a giveaway with BeautyUK but Ive only just got round to trying this one out. I think its one of those colours that looks much nicer on than in the bottle.

Priced at just £2.49 from superdrug or direct from the website here

Whilst i was looking at the website i noticed they have some rather fabulous looking other nail polishes which i am really keen to try out. Look at this gorgeous set of mini's: I really want to get this set, its perfect for holidays and summer tootsies.

Urban Girl mini polish set £4.99

Also i would love to try this shocking pink shatter polish priced at £2.99
I'm waiting for the mini's to come back into stock and then I'm going to place a little order after all £4.99 for 6 new colours is amazing value.

I've only tried 2 of the polishes before but both have been really lovely and smooth to apply with great coverage in just 2 coats and much better quality than a lot of higher priced polishes which Ive tried before.

Have you tried any of these polishes and if so what did you think ?

Navy Nail Fail !

Don't you hate it when a nail polish looks really pretty in the bottle but fails to deliver once on the nails. I purchased this No7 Stay Perfect Nail Colour in Betty Blues as it looked such a gorgeous navy blue with tonnes of glitter.

In this picture with the flash you can see how lovely ( excuse the rubbish paint job ) the colour is up close but unfortunately in real life it looks a dark navy almost black and no glitter shows through at all :(

This photo is with flash and still no glitter

I might try and get a blue glitter polish to go over the top as i love the idea of glittery navy nails but sadly this one just didn't cut it. If you know of any shades I'd love some suggestions xx

Holo there! Nude nails.

I thought i'd try a bit of a different combo on my nails and i think it turned out rather well. I love glitter and so tried a couple of different glitters on the Nails inc Jermyn street which is a beautiful polish on its own.

3 polishes = pretty nails

Coat 1 : Nails Inc Jermyn Street

Coat 2 :  Models Own Pink Fizz

Coat 3 : Northern Lights out the door hologram top coat

 Nude Blinging Nails

I liked it so much i painted my tootsies too.

Do you play around with layering different colours? I really like this and the best thing is although its amazingly sparkly it comes off with remover really easily for once :)
Hope you are all having a great weekend xx

Lady or a Tramp?

Well hello everybody, thanks so much for all your birthday wishes yesterday. I had a lovely day with a bit of shopping, lots of eating and relaxing in the lovely sunshine. I didn't end up buying much as i didn't really see much i wanted so will spend my birthday money on a little online spend.

I did get some lovely flowers from my dad and we went out to Nandos for a nice meal too.
I will do a later post on what i end up buying.

Anyway on Sunday i went to the local Car boot sale and picked up a couple of bits which i thought id show you. I Love Car boot sales. My friends all laugh at me and say its very trampish ha. I don't care at all, in fact i think i will look rather like a lady in this little outfit that i managed to scoop up.

Top Shop Dress £60 New and never worn i paid £8

Shoes worn once £2
( I thought they would suit the dress perfectly )

Then i nipped into boots and picked up this Stunning polish. Its such a pretty colour

No7 Damson Dream £7

Do you like my bargainishious outfit and do you like to pick up a bargain at the car boot or avoid them like the plague?

ORLY TERRACOTTA

Sometimes i Love the Classic look. Trends come and go and as much as i love trying out all the latest shades sometimes i like to go back to basics with a classic red.

Orly Terracotta

This polish is easy to apply and gives great even coverage with just 2 coats. I always think of Orly as a salon product so was pleased to find out that the mini sizes are now available at Boots priced at just £5

I'm going to treat myself to Purple Crush as i love the look of this vibrant little polish and it will be the  ideal size for travelling.
I can picture this on my toes with a tan. Gorgeous :)

Purple Crush

Have you tried the Orly polishes and if so what is your favourite colour so far ?
