In this picture with the flash you can see how lovely ( excuse the rubbish paint job ) the colour is up close but unfortunately in real life it looks a dark navy almost black and no glitter shows through at all :(
This photo is with flash and still no glitter
I might try and get a blue glitter polish to go over the top as i love the idea of glittery navy nails but sadly this one just didn't cut it. If you know of any shades I'd love some suggestions xx
I think it still looks lovely though. Just a shame the glitter doesn't show xx
ReplyDeletewhat a shame
ReplyDeletei've seen a maybelline top coat with blue kind of shimmer on a lot of blogs, it looks really pretty and i bet it would look gorgeous over this
Have you tried Barry M Navy? It's a much more navy colour with some light glitter in x
ReplyDeleteit is a very nice dark color. ^___^
ReplyDeleteEven without the sparkly goodness, it is a deep, cool blue. But, yea, it is a big disappointment when it doesn't live up to it's show in the bottle.
ReplyDeleteMaybe it could work as a base color for some sparkly overlay polish or a contrasting crackle?
Aww, I know what you mean. So before I buy a nail polish I'll always try it out on one nail even though we're not suppose to. Lol.

i felt the same about this colour! when i wore it people kept commenting on it, calling it black. the pretty blue sparkles don't seem to show up unless you're in really bright light x
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! reminds me of one from Revlon
ReplyDeleteLooks fab in the bottle, such a shame that it doesn't look as blue or sparkly on the nails xx
ReplyDeleteI felt the same way about this polish. I love the formula, it lasts for ages but the colour is just so blaaaaah. The only way I like it is with Gosh Rainbow over the top. Works better for me than a creamy black (and I don't havea shimmer black)
ReplyDeleteThanks ladies and thanks for the suggestions too, i will take a look at them as i'm sur a pretty glittery topcoat might make all the difference xx
ReplyDeleteYikes! The idea sounds really interesting, but indeed the polish seems a disappointment! Everything looks better covered in glitter! Or whipped cream. But that's another subject! Lol xxx
ReplyDeleteIt looks dark hun,but navy for sure..I'd love to get Russian navy or the new China glaze more blue they seem!!!

that really sucks! I've had the same experience with quite a few of the no7 polishes... and the texture can be really hard to work with. I bought the pale pink base coat and to be honest it was so rubbish it actually made my polish more difficult to apply instead of easier!
ReplyDeleteNails Inc do a brilliant silver crackling top coat which is dead handy for re-vamping dark shades that you arent too keen on, always good when you get a dud like this! :)
It does look great in the bottle! But it is one of those colors that leans towards black once applied.
ReplyDeleteI know of 3 UK polishes which may fit the bill - Marks & Spencer Lagoon, GOSH Blue Monday or Barry M Navy? I know, I hate when the bottle colour is different on the nail :( xxx
ReplyDeleteThe nail polish actually looks nice. It's a deep dark color, i actually like it! :) but yea it is very annoying when the color in the bottle does not match the color on your nails....I think revlon have a nice deep navy blue....

omg sry for my spelling and grammar...Obviously i'm still sleeping!lol
ReplyDeleteLoving this colour - it's a shame the glitter doesn't show up more though!! x
ReplyDeleteWith dark colours like these I always wish they would show up the way they do under flash as they always just look black on me. It's a shame the glitter doesn't show up more, because it looks gorgeous in the bottle! Layering a blue glitter over a navy sounds like the way to go - bit more of a faff though.

My manager bought this polish and thought the exact same thing hun! She wanted a nice sparkly blue, but when she applied it, was soo disappointed! Couldn't see no glitter sparkliness at all! :(
