Hair Colour = Changes

Since i changed my hair colour i have noticed that my usual makeup just looked wrong as do certain clothes. Its not really something i thought about before colouring but now my favourite pinks are out and Ive been raiding my makeup to try out different things.

I've also not been applying my fake tan as I'm quite enjoying the natural look with this colour hair,  so i have been embracing the changes and playing with my makeup. I've really enjoyed trying different looks and it feels good to mix things up a bit.
Things Ive been loving

Mac Costa Chic, Mac Sandy B, NYX Orange Soda

Sleek Scandalous blusher, Mac Uncommon, ELF Warm bronzer

Basic eyes with Mac Costa Chic on the lips

Soft Smokey eyes

Neutral colours

I'm loving the neutrals more than ever with this hair colour and am starting to think that less is more.
Anyway thanks for all your lovely comments especially for all of you who have said you love my hair as i am a bit of a wuss when it comes to colour. Have a great night xxx

Bloggers Meet !

Hi everyone, i wanted to do a quick post about last Saturday when i toodled off to Sheffield to meet some lovely bloggers for a few hrs.
HUGE thank you to Lauren from Laurens Dressing Room who arranged the whole thing. I'm always complaining that i can never get to any of the events as they are so far away so this was an ideal opportunity to meet some of the faces behind the blogs.

Lauren was so thoughtful that she even hosted a giveaway and i was one of the winners Yaaay.

Note some of these photos are pinched from lauren as after sharing a couple of pitchers of cocktails and a double vodka & Redbull my camera skills left a bit to be desired :)

The Gorgeous Lauren, Haidee and Helen

I was sat next to Claire who was so lovely. Everyone was so easy to get on with and although i was only there for a few hrs i really enjoyed myself.

Emily who had me entertained throughout lunch with lots of funny stories. I was quite jealous that i couldn't continue on with them all and head out that evening to a club but sadly i had to get back.

Lets hope there is another meet up soon xx

Rimmel Lasting Foundation 25hrs Rave Review

Hi there lovelies, i know a few of you have already tried this foundation out, but for those of you who haven't i wanted to do a quick review as I'm really impressed.

I read so many mixed reviews on this foundation. Some people love it some hate it. I heard it was really thick and greasy, i read some reviews on boots saying it had no coverage ???
It's on offer at boots just now for just £5 so i thought i would try it for myself.
I have seen so many adverts for this stuff plus the fact that miss jones  gave such a positive review was  reason enough for me to have a dabble.

I picked up shade 200 soft beige as i have not been wearing any fake tan lately and it actually matched my skin perfectly. The shades are a little bit hit and miss so if you are very fair you may struggle getting a colour as the lightest seems quite dark in my opinion.

DAY 1
The first time i wore it i used a really really small amount and buffed it in well with my flat top sigma brush. I applied it immediately after moisturising so the slip of the moisturiser helps blend it into my skin.

These first two photos were taken with no concealer, no powder or bronzer

I love the results. It looks so natural and feels lovely and fresh on the skin. It leaves a slightly dewy look and really covers any redness, imperfections and blends so easily. ( it helps that the colour is perfect )

The foundation lasted all day but i did find my nose area went a bit shiny after about 7 hrs which is not really a problem as such but thought I'd point it out anyway.

 DAY 2
The next day i applied the foundation in the same way but just slightly more. Nearly 1 full pump to be exact lol
I then applied my Mac Skinfinish powder with a big soft brush and applied a little ELF bronzer to warm my complexion up a bit. Again no concealer.

This time the foundation lasted from first thing in the morning till about 8pm before i noticed a shiny nose. I really love how it looks on my skin and it photographs pretty nicely too.
I nipped into boots while wearing it and my friend on the Estee Lauder counter asked me what i was wearing and was shocked when i told her :)

It is very similar to Estee Lauder Double wear and it also reminds me slightly of Revlon colourstay which i also really like except i find colourstay can be a bit cakey looking sometimes and this is not.

If you are looking for a new foundation then i would seriously give this some consideration.
Rimmel have gone up a rank in my books after trying this. This is an ideal foundation for both day wear or an evening out. I will be getting in a darker shade as well so when i wear my fake tan i can still use it. Thumbs up Rimmel.

LUSH Tiny Hands !

Hello lovely ladies, i was just wondering if any of you have noticed the Tiny Hands solid lotion bar in Lush? I was sent this for reviewing purposes and since then it has become a daily staple product for me.

What tiny hands you have my dear

Tiny Hands is the latest in the solid treatment range which contains Argan oil, Aloe Vera, Cocoa and Shea butters to coat and soften hands that have become dry and cracked.
This stuff smells absolutely gorgeous, possibly because its loaded with vanilla (one of my favourite scents) with a slight floral note. Perfect for an afternoon sensory pick me up.

Ive been keeping mine next to my computer table and using it everyday, a few times a day to be honest. What with this and my Lemony flutter which is next to the kitchen sink then my hands have been truly pampered lately. It keeps my mitts lovely and soft without being greasy or heavy.

Tiny Hands comes in at a Tiny price too. £3.95 which is brilliant as i can tell its going to last for ages. Perfect as a little pressie with mothers day just around the corner. In fact i'm going to get one for my mother in law as i know she will love it.

Have you got your hands on this yet?

Top of the Taupes!

If i could only wear one eyeshadow for the rest of my life it would have to be Taupe. I love the fact that it isn't a brown it isn't a grey but a mysterious combination which seems to suit so many different looks and so of course i am always searching for the perfect Taupe.
Here's some of my favourites that i have come across.

NYX Slate & GOSH No14 Grey/Brown

MAC Satin Taupe & Stila Kalahoo

Everyday Minerals In the garden & Barry M 51

A recent find is the No7 Stay perfect eyeliner in Chainmail which was love at first swatch. Its a beautiful taupe which is smudge proof, waterproof and once its on it literally doesn't move.

Anyone else having a Love affair with Taupe?

Guest review for Yes to carrots !

Today's post is a Guest review from the lovely Sherrie over at Mirror Mirror on the wall
If you haven't checked out her blog before please do as its one of my favourites.

Yes To Carrots Moisturizing Day Cream
I would just like to thank the gorgeous Nicoletta for asking me to be a guest reviewer for her, I’ve been following Nicolettas blog for a long time now and love it! I love how talented she is, her makeup always looks stunning.
When Nicoletta asked me if I would like to try the Yes to Carrots Moisturizing  Day Cream It was a lovely gesture thanks hun! Yes to Carrots has a wide range of natural skin and hair care products which are paraben free and kind to the skin. They use the power of Beta-Carotene from Organic vegetables & fruit which cleanse, purify and moisturise. They contain 26 minerals which are harvested from the Dead Sea.

£12.35 (50ml)
I have normal/dry skin so this is perfect for me, until recently I’ve been suffering from dry skin. So this couldn’t have come at a better time, I love the brands quirky name Yes To Carrots the packaging is clean and simple displaying the message clearly. This day cream is described as a smoothie, once you read the ingredients you’ll all agree this is like a smoothie for your face!  Carrot Juice, Avocado Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Ginkgo Biloba Leaf Extract, Cucumber Juice, Witch Hazel, Green Tea Extract, Orange Peel,  Mandarin Peel and Pomegranate peel extract are but a few amazing ingredients.  Do you think this could go towards our 5 a day? Would be a good start for the morning don’t you think? Ha ha.

The texture is very thick and creamy, my skin literally drinks this which is good to think I’m really hydrating my skin and replacing any lost moisture.  I’ve been poorly for a little while and so my skin has suffered a little but is now back to its normal condition thanks to my new face smoothie!
Yes to Carrots say-
Face the world with a fresh confidence each and every day. This juicy smoothie of a moisturiser keeps your skin looking fabulous while you get on with your day. The spring water based day cream combines the anti-oxidant power of organic carrot and orange juices with 26 purifying Dead Sea minerals. Moisturising Day Cream softens, smoothes and firms your skin, leaving you with a radiant glow.
You can view the range online at Victoria Health
Many thanks for reading and hope you enjoyed the guest post ♥ Thanks for having me Nicoletta xx

Barganicious Volume with Got2b hair powder !

I have been on the lookout for this since reading the fab review from Stina over at The Chic Beauty blog.
I have a very similar product from sexy hair which costs over £10 so wanted to see how this new product compared as it costs just over £3 in boots :)

Unfortunately everywhere had sold out but eventually i managed to get my hands on the last box on the shelf.
Basically the powder looks like talc which you sprinkle and rub into the roots of your hair for instant volume and lift.
Got2b Powder Volumiser

Before

After

As you can see it works amazingly well and its so easy to use even for a hair care novice like me.
My hair is so fine and products like this are a life saver when I'm going out and need some oomph added.
I also use it if I'm doing a messy up style as it makes it a lot easier to get the added volume needed. Although i have always loved my Sexy hair play powder i will no longer be forking out for it as this stuff does exactly the same thing at a fraction of the price.
If you see this while out shopping grab it quick as its bound to be sold out as soon as people start to realise how brilliant it is.

On another note just to say this weekend I'm off to Sheffield for the Bloggers meet and I'm so excited to meet everyone else that's going.
I wont know anyone so I'm pretty nervous but i guess a lot of us will be in the same boat. Eeek
Anyway have a great weekend everyone xx

Sigma Brushes Have Arrived !

Just a quick post to tell you that my new Sigma brushes have arrived and although I've only used them twice its LOVE at first sight.

My new brushes arrived like this.

F84 Angled Top Kabuki

F80 Flat topped Kabuki

F82 Round top Kabuki

F15 Duo Fibre Powder/Blush brush ( This came as a free gift :)

The bristles are amazingly soft and they seem to blend my foundation, powder, blusher, highlighter and bronzer so easily.
I'm wondering why it took me so long to buy these. I cant wait to use these everyday now and think the rest of my face brushes will be feeling very neglected.

Have you tried any of the Sigma brushes and do you have any favourites that you can't do without?
Hope you are all well and enjoying the lovely weather that seems to have appeared these last few days here in the UK. xx

Yes To Carrots Moisturising Body Scrub !

Morning ladies, I've woken up to a gorgeous sunny morning which instantly makes me feel happy and full of beans.
I thought I'd tell you about my latest body scrub which I've been using in the shower to get my skin ready for summer. ( It's on its way )

Yes To Carrots Moisturising Body Scrub
I have tried so many body scrubs as you can imagine but this feels totally different to all the others. When i first opened the tube i actually reread the front as it looks like a thick body cream.

The particles are very small in this scrub and the first time i used it in the shower i have to say i wasn't overly impressed. But the second time i realised that i was doing it wrong lol. ( Note to self, read instructions before use )
So i used it again in the shower but this time instead of just rubbing some on my body and rinsing i applied the cream to my hands and massaged it in for 3 minutes without standing under the water. Then rinsing.
The difference is amazing, i didn't even need to apply any cream afterwards my whole body felt soooo soft. This is an amazing product when used correctly.

I love the fact that the ingredients are always natural and Paraben free. The scrub has a very delicate smell, i can't detect any carrot although it does contain Carrot Seed oil as well as Sweet potato and Dead Sea Mud.

If you love a harsh scrub then this is not for you but if you are looking for a gentle exfoliator with amazing moisturising properties then i highly recommend this one. Available from Victoria Health and priced at £9.25.

Have you tried any Yes to Carrots products yet?

Colour me up Baby !

Hello lovely ladies, today i have been to the hairdressers and had a colour put on my hair. As you might already know i coloured it a few weeks ago at home and while i did like it, i wanted it a bit brighter.
Luckily for me the hairdresser i have been going to recently is a friend of mine and so i felt in safe hands as I'm always a bit scared of having my hair done and then hating it lol.

So here's my new colour with a sweeping fringe added for good measure

I'm so pleased with the colour its just what i wanted.

While I'm on the subject of colour, i want to talk about my clothes or lack of them should i say. I was looking in my wardrobe for something to wear the other day and it suddenly hit me how 90 odd percent of my clothes are black???
How did this happen? I can't say that i really noticed it before but now I'm aware of how boring my clothes have become i am determined to do something about it.
So I'm only going to buy coloured items from now on until i force myself out of this rut.
This week I've brought 2 tops to start me off.

Orange boob tube from Next

Green silk vest top from New Look

Yes black is slimming but i am not depressed and I'm not in mourning so I'm giving myself a kick up the jacksee and injecting some colour back into my life.
Do you shy away from colour or do you love the brights?

Perfectly natural skin with Airbase !

Hello lovely ladies, today's post is featuring Airbase Makeup which i was firstly introduced to when reading Girlinthecityglasgow blog where she was raving about it. Since then i have been waiting to try it as i was slightly intrigued.
The foundation itself comes in 7 different shades and is loved by many celebrity makeup artists who seem to favour the airbrush technique. Saying that it is a very versatile product and can also be applied with fingers, brush or a sponge.

£32.95 for 30ml

Shade 3 was a perfect match

The texture is so light

Perfect for a natural look

I love the fact that my skin actually looks like skin and not makeup. I can see myself wearing this a lot during the summer as its practicaly sun proof and sweat proof which is amazing for such a natural looking light textured foundation.

I can see why  its such a hit with the makeup artists. The cover is sheer but buildable and it photographs really well too. It reminds me slightly of Mac face and body but the finish is semi matte. I applied this with a brush and didn't set with a powder. The foundation lasted all day without needing to be touched up.
This foundation is great for those who love a natural looking finish and it feels amazing as its so light you don't know its there.

Airbase even retail the small airbrush and compressor so you can apply like a pro. This technique creates a flawless professional finish which doesn't come cheap at £199.95 but a worthy investment if you are serious about your makeup.

The light as air texture is created by the silicone base which not only allows the skin to breath but also means that pores don't get clogged.

Check out the airbase website for more info.
Have you tried airbase before and what kind of finish do you like from your foundation?
