Hi there lovelies, i know a few of you have already tried this foundation out, but for those of you who haven't i wanted to do a quick review as I'm really impressed.
It's on offer at boots just now for just £5 so i thought i would try it for myself.
I have seen so many adverts for this stuff plus the fact that miss jones gave such a positive review was reason enough for me to have a dabble.
I picked up shade 200 soft beige as i have not been wearing any fake tan lately and it actually matched my skin perfectly. The shades are a little bit hit and miss so if you are very fair you may struggle getting a colour as the lightest seems quite dark in my opinion.
DAY 1
The first time i wore it i used a really really small amount and buffed it in well with my flat top sigma brush. I applied it immediately after moisturising so the slip of the moisturiser helps blend it into my skin.
These first two photos were taken with no concealer, no powder or bronzer
I love the results. It looks so natural and feels lovely and fresh on the skin. It leaves a slightly dewy look and really covers any redness, imperfections and blends so easily. ( it helps that the colour is perfect )
The foundation lasted all day but i did find my nose area went a bit shiny after about 7 hrs which is not really a problem as such but thought I'd point it out anyway.
DAY 2
The next day i applied the foundation in the same way but just slightly more. Nearly 1 full pump to be exact lol
I then applied my Mac Skinfinish powder with a big soft brush and applied a little ELF bronzer to warm my complexion up a bit. Again no concealer.
This time the foundation lasted from first thing in the morning till about 8pm before i noticed a shiny nose. I really love how it looks on my skin and it photographs pretty nicely too.
I nipped into boots while wearing it and my friend on the Estee Lauder counter asked me what i was wearing and was shocked when i told her :)
It is very similar to Estee Lauder Double wear and it also reminds me slightly of Revlon colourstay which i also really like except i find colourstay can be a bit cakey looking sometimes and this is not.
If you are looking for a new foundation then i would seriously give this some consideration.
Rimmel have gone up a rank in my books after trying this. This is an ideal foundation for both day wear or an evening out. I will be getting in a darker shade as well so when i wear my fake tan i can still use it. Thumbs up Rimmel.
beautiful - how good is it for the price! finally a product for a budget...ur hair is so lush hun xxx
ReplyDeleteI'm looking into cheaper foundations lately as I've worn Chanel Mat Lumiere for years. I've just tried Maybellines The Eraser and hated how oily it felt and how obvious it looked, this looks gorgeous on you though!

yay so glad someone else has backed me up as I LOVE this i have the exact same shade and love the fact it has a built in primer, I used to love the old rimmel lasting finish too swore by them for years as I find other good coverage foundations like doublewear really clog up my skin

Great review i personally have never been a fan of rimmel foundations i tried the skin matching one (cannot remember name) in 'ivory' which should of been called 'essex orange' or something it was definitely not ivory! lol They really should widen there colour range!
ReplyDeleteI will however pop down to boots to check this one out hopefully it will improve my current opinion of rimmel...... I was rather impressed with your pics and the coverage :) xxx
This is the second rave I've heard about this today, might keep a look out for it :) thanks for the review :)
ReplyDeleteThanks girls, im glad you like the look of it. Its brilliant when a product works and is affordable for everyone. I love a lot of high end products but if i find something as good as this in this price bracket then i'm twice as happy xx
