Crossing Over To The Dark Side!

Well i finally decided to colour my hair back to dark brown. Ive been uming and ahhing as i loved the red but the upkeep was just too much, so i picked up a colour from boots a few weeks ago and last night i popped it on while watching the only way is Essex lol.

I'm thinking of getting some clip in extensions to add a bit of thickness for nights out etc. I'm tempted to get the Halo ones as I've read loads of good reviews so i might save my pennies and get some. Unless you have any other recommendations?

Yes To Hair products !

Today's post is a review on a shampoo & Conditioner from the Yes To Cucumber Range.

I have been trying out a few of the Yes to products but this is the first product that is Yes to Cucumbers so i was interested to see how a shampoo /conditioner like this would smell. It does smell of cucumbers, but in a really fresh and invigorating way. The smell is so hard to describe. If i could give an award for the freshest smelling shampoo it would have to go to these.

Yes to Cucumbers Shampoo/Conditioner £8.99 500ml Each

The Yes to Cucumbers shampoo is created for colour treated hair. Packed full of ingredients like Centaurea Extract ( a botanical extract ) to help protect hair from light and lock in colour.
Organic Cucumbers for nourishment and Aloe Vera the Magical plant that refreshes, hydrates and gives hair amazing shine.

Yes to Cucumbers conditioner is again aimed at colour treated hair with Organic Cucumbers. Centaurea Extract and Green Tea for protection and shine

Did they Work for me:

All in all i really love the way the two products worked on my hair. I was left with shiny glossy locks and i do think they helped keep my colour looking bright which is hard work when you have coloured red hair.

The smell is a bit unusual i can't decide if i like it or not. It's really really fresh smelling and totally different to any other shampoo I've tried. Saying that the smell doesn't linger on the hair once its dry so its not really an issue for me.

My hair feels so clean after using these and i can get away with an extra day before washing my hair as it seems to get less oily for some reason at the roots.
The conditioner is light but it still has plenty of slip and detangles my hair well and makes it feel really soft.

The bottles are huge and seem to last for ages so good if you are on a budget but still want to use great products with natural and organic ingredients.

I'd love to know if anyone else has tried these before and if so what did you think?

Hair Colour = Changes

Since i changed my hair colour i have noticed that my usual makeup just looked wrong as do certain clothes. Its not really something i thought about before colouring but now my favourite pinks are out and Ive been raiding my makeup to try out different things.

I've also not been applying my fake tan as I'm quite enjoying the natural look with this colour hair,  so i have been embracing the changes and playing with my makeup. I've really enjoyed trying different looks and it feels good to mix things up a bit.
Things Ive been loving

Mac Costa Chic, Mac Sandy B, NYX Orange Soda

Sleek Scandalous blusher, Mac Uncommon, ELF Warm bronzer

Basic eyes with Mac Costa Chic on the lips

Soft Smokey eyes

Neutral colours

I'm loving the neutrals more than ever with this hair colour and am starting to think that less is more.
Anyway thanks for all your lovely comments especially for all of you who have said you love my hair as i am a bit of a wuss when it comes to colour. Have a great night xxx

Colour me up Baby !

Hello lovely ladies, today i have been to the hairdressers and had a colour put on my hair. As you might already know i coloured it a few weeks ago at home and while i did like it, i wanted it a bit brighter.
Luckily for me the hairdresser i have been going to recently is a friend of mine and so i felt in safe hands as I'm always a bit scared of having my hair done and then hating it lol.

So here's my new colour with a sweeping fringe added for good measure

I'm so pleased with the colour its just what i wanted.

While I'm on the subject of colour, i want to talk about my clothes or lack of them should i say. I was looking in my wardrobe for something to wear the other day and it suddenly hit me how 90 odd percent of my clothes are black???
How did this happen? I can't say that i really noticed it before but now I'm aware of how boring my clothes have become i am determined to do something about it.
So I'm only going to buy coloured items from now on until i force myself out of this rut.
This week I've brought 2 tops to start me off.

Orange boob tube from Next

Green silk vest top from New Look

Yes black is slimming but i am not depressed and I'm not in mourning so I'm giving myself a kick up the jacksee and injecting some colour back into my life.
Do you shy away from colour or do you love the brights?

New Hair = New Products

Hello gorgeous girlie's, I recently coloured my hair with the John Freda Mousse and also had a few inches cut off as it was looking a bit bedraggled to say the least.
New hair = New products ( well any excuse )

I have a few new products that i have been using and might i say loving which i wanted to tell you about.
First on the list is the Sexy Hair Reinvent top coat:

The company states :
Designed to nourish, moisturise and restore hair to full-on glory this is the perfect way to repair naturally or chemically damaged hair, and rebuild, refresh and prolong colour. You can be confident of shiny hair results bursting with vitality and have the look you want and keep hair in great condition, too.

I find this an interesting concept as you use it after your conditioner as a separate step.
Anything to help prolong colour is worth a shot right?
Well i really think this helps my hair. The product itself feels like a thick cream which smells lovely but quite subtle.
Ive been leaving it on for 2 minutes like the recommended time and rinsing out.

I do think its helped keep the colour looking fresh and its also making my hair nice and shiny.
(Me likee)
I am planning on changing my colour to a more reddish tone soon and this will come in really handy as red fades so fast usually.
Ingredients include Coconut Extract, Rice Bran oil and Passionfruit oil.
Priced at £12.99 available from www.sexyhair.co.uk

I can really recommend this if you hair is coloured and looking a bit dull to help brighten it up or if you are planning on colouring your hair then this is great to use from day 1 to keep your colour looking fresh and vibrant.
I love the sexy hair products Ive not tried anything from the range that i haven't been impressed by.

PS Post coming soon on another hair product that i am loving at the moment.
Have you tried any of the sexy hair products and what is your must have hair product? I like to know these things so i can be nosey and check them out xx

John Frieda Precision Foam

Hello! Just a quick post to let you know how i got on with colouring my hair this week. I know i have mentioned it a few times to some of you on twitter that i fancied a bit of a change for a while now.
So after looking at a lot of different colours on the market i decided to go for the new John Freda precision Foam In Deep Cherry Brown.

Now my hair has quite a lot of dark brown permanent colour in it already so i was going to strip the colour out first to make it brighter but to be honest i couldn't be bothered so i thought i would just give it a go and hope that a little bit of red would manage to take to my hair.

I haven't included photos of preparation etc as to be honest the leaflet is simple to understand. All i will say is the foam makes it so much easier to apply. There were no drips at all and it smells lovely. Simple and easy to do yourself which is a triumph in itself.

The Results: In bright lights it looks red in dim lighting it looks dark brown. All in all though considering my hair condition before using this product i am really happy with the results.

My hair looks so much shinier and feels lovely. Although i thought the change was subtle nearly everyone has noticed and commented on how good it looks :)
I really rate this as probably the best home colouring that i have tried so far and at £9.99 (but on offer in boots for just £7.99) then i think its a bargain.
Do you girls home colour or do you like to leave it to a salon???
PS it covers grey/white hairs like a dream. Not that i have any ( cough cough )
