Marshmallow Soap Fun!

Tonight i decided on a whim to have a go at making soap. Ive never really thought too much about making soap as for some reason i didn't think soap was overly popular these days but anyhow i wanted to play and make something girly.
I decided on a Marshmallow Fragrance to fit in with my Marshmallowblends website and here's what i came up with:

Pink & White Girly Soap Slabs

I didn't even have a proper mold or anything but i just improvised and am quite pleased with my 1st attempt. Its made with an SLS free Shea Butter soap base and as i said its fragranced with a yummy marshmallow fragrance.

So my question is:
Do you use soap? Do you think of soap as being old fashioned or do you love to use soap? Thanks so much ladies xx

  3. I've recently started using soap and love it :) I stocked up on soap from Lush over Christmas! I know the girls on the Lush Facebook page are crazy for it! Bars of soap come with less packaging too, which is always good :) x

  4. I use soap from lush but only for hand washing, find it a little too drying for body washing, although because I love the smell of lush snow cakes I'll rub it on a shower poof to wash with occasionally x

  5. Those are so so gorgeous! I rarely ever use soap, usually bottles of things. Any soaps we have are decorative but I want this it's so so adorable!

  8. I was raised on liquid body washes, but since I've started to "grow up" and have to buy my own things like toothpaste and soap, I actually prefer the bar soap over the liquid body wash.

Like a couple of others mentioned, it uses less packaging. Also love it because it lasts so much longer, easier to tote around (I live out of my backpack, haha), and since there's such a growing interest in DIYer stuff it's getting easy to find bar soaps that are less harsh on skin than their commercial counterparts. In yummy scents to boot, too!

    Marshmallow sounds yummy :)

  16. These are extremely beautiful! I am a committed shower gel user though, in my head soap is too drying, even though I know if its chock full of shea butter it wont be, its a head thing!

  22. Wow, they look amazing. Very pretty vintage look and I love that the swirls look like ribbons. I never buy soap for myself but would definitely buy it as a gift for someone else.

I'm just researching into making some foot salves for use with my reflexology client's and I'm going to give lipbalms a go for myself too. Should be interesting ... X
