Loving Right Now!

Wow I'm really over due a post on here. Sorry for the lack of blogging but things are a bit hectic at the moment so i thought I'd just write a very quick post to say Hello and let you know a few products I'm loving right now!

Korres Wild Rose 24 Hr Moisturising Brightening Cream

I mentioned how much i loved this cream before well the more i use it the better my skin seems to be. The consistency is a thick creamy gel which absorbs incredibly well and gives me plenty of moisture but still feels light. Its unlike anything Ive used before and i am now well over half way through this little pot of magic.

Will i re buy? Definite Yes.

My skin feels smoother, looks brighter and more even toned. A must have product for all skin types.

 Sleek Face & Body Highlighter

I received this recently for review purposes and added it to my "Must Try" stash. It sat there for a while and i didn't think to use it but on a night out last week i thought id give it a try and it was instant Love.

The shades give a gorgeous shimmery sheen and a nice amount of warmth. The colours blend beautifully and leave a gorgeous Glow. Ive been using it ever since. I will do some proper swatches for you all soon.

Hehe Sorry about the pout pic :) It does show the glow though.

And if you were thinking i look very tanned here you are quite right. Its all down to this next product Model Co Tan Airbrush in a can.

I cant be without a lick of tan on a night out and this spray tan is so quick and easy it makes me feel like Ive been for a spray tan at the salon. It sprays at all angles making it super easy to reach those awkward areas and best of all there is no orange hands as you literally spray it on and leave it to do its magic.
It also smells gorgeous and fruity and lasts a good 5 days which is fab.
A bit on the pricey side but worth it.

Hope you are all having a lovely weekend and thanks for reading xx

Sleek Mascara Review!

I received the latest Sleek Mascara "Lash Out" a while back and i have been using it ever since.
The packaging is Bright pink with a type of graffiti look.
Available from Superdrug or online for £7.00 which is a very reasonable price in my opinion

The brush is rather large but it does do a nice job of separating the lashes and the colour is a really good Jet Black.

I was going to show you a photo of 1 and 2 coats but instead i thought I'd show you how it looks with 3 thin coats as that's how Ive been wearing it.

It's a great mascara for people like me who need a nice thick formula for added definition and it can go a bit clumpy at times if I'm not careful but overall the formula works really well and as i said before Ive been reaching for it everyday as its quick to apply and adds a nice amount of definition for my daily look

Have you tried this mascara out yet?

Berry Merry Xmas with Sleek Makeup!

Sleek have recently launched this gorgeous box set which is great value for money at just £10 and right on trend with its bold berry shades.

The Berry Collection

The set includes:
Cranberry Lipstick which is a deep vampy matte red shade.
Fenberry Blush which id describe as a berry plum.
Mossberry Kohl Pencil which is a deep Burgundy shade which can be used on both the eyes and lips.

Swatches from top to bottom: Eyes, Lips & Cheeks

Of course i had to try them out for myself. No Deep red lippy gets past me without a venture onto the lips

The lipstick is a stunning dark red and although its matte i didn't find it drying at all and its not one of those lipsticks that clings and emphasises every tiny line either which is a nice change. I do like matte lips but some are not particularly flattering but I'm pleased to say this one is.

For me the blusher is the stand out product of all three in this box. I am a big fan of the Sleek blushers anyway and this one is a gorgeous colour that seems to warm my complexion up without looking overly flushed or made up. You only need a tiny amount as you do with most of the Sleek blushers.

This would make a lovely stocking filler for a friend or a little pick me up treat for yourself when you are doing the Xmas shopping :)

Are you rocking the deep shades this time of year?

Sleek Pout Paints!

After the response i had at Halloween over my lipstick i thought I'd do a quick post on the Pout Paints that i used. to create a rather unique and bright purple as displayed here:

I mixed three of the pout paints together to get a bright purple look

Sleek Pout Paints in Mauve Over, Peek-a-bloo and Cloud 9
The Sleek Pot Paints are such vivid colours with great pigmentation, very similar to the OCC lip tars but at a much cheaper price. Luckily for me Superdrug had 342 on all cosmetics when i got these so the three cost under £10

154 Mauve Over

They are extremely long lasting, i topped up once during the whole evening which included eating and drinking. You only use a small amount as they are so pigmented that they will last for ages.
I love mixing the colours to create lots of different shades.

Shades made with just 3 colours

As you can see its amazing how many different shades that you can make with just those 3 colours. I really want to try some of the other Pout Paints now. Admittedly they are not the most wearable of colours but great when you want something a bit different. Available online and at most Superdrug stores. Do you have any other shades that you can recommend to me?

October Favourites!

Hello people! Sometimes i struggle with monthly favourites, in fact most months i find that i have too many products that i like or that nothing seems to have wowed me enough to call a favourite.
This month it was easy to pick 7 must have products for me as each one is pretty amazing, so here we go:

October Favourite Picks!

 Skincare saviours!

My skin has been really playing me up lately. I had purchased the no7 hot cloth cleanser after reading a lot of reviews from other blogs. Lots of people comparing it to Liz Earle but for me it seriously did not work. It left me spotty and dull. (Not a good look)

Luckily this trio of products has helped create a huge turnaround in a very short space of time in using them :)

Savar Essential Cleansing Lotion: This cleanser is packed full of natural ingredients including New Zealand calendula extract and sweet orange extract. It smells amazing very fresh, slightly citrusy and feels rich and creamy on application.
You remove it with a hot damp cloth and it leaves skin fresh and really soft. I have noticed an immediate effect on my skin from using this its brilliant. It removes mascara as well so its perfect for me as I'm not keen on using a separate eye makeup remover. It is priced at £24 and available directly from the website

Korres Pomegranate Tonic Lotion: I have not been using this for very long but it has again had a great effect on my skin. I'm a fan of products that contain salicylic acid as this one does, it really helps minimise my breakouts. The toner smells beautiful, slightly fruity but a nice natural gentle smell and it leaves my pores looking smaller and my skin brighter. This is a new product and i can see it becoming a best seller. Priced at  £14 for 200ml it is a bargain

Yes to Tomatoes Facial Hydrating Lotion: Again another natural based product which is aimed at oily/combination skins. What surprised me most about this moisturiser is the fact it feels quite rich when you first apply it. (Most creams for oily skins are very light) but it absorbs really well and leaves my skin quite matte. It contains Organic Tomatoes,Watermelon, Camomile and Dead Sea minerals. I find it very soothing and gentle on my skin. Priced at £12.35

Make up Staples!

Sleek Brow Kit: I was sent this kit for review purposes and i have used it everyday since. It's such a cute kit that has everything in it to keep brows tidy and groomed, the shade light which i have is perfect for filling in gaps without looking overly made up and the tweezers and tiny brush means you have everything to hand.
Its also a steal at just £7.99 available online or from Superdrug

Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage: As i said before i had been suffering with breakouts last month and a lot of late nights. This has been a godsend. I often use other concealers but this one i go back to time and time again. Brilliant for multipurpose concealing. Luckily my skin is a lot better now but I'm still using this under the eyes for covering dark circles and although its pricey it lasts amazingly well RRP £26

Avon SuperShock Mascara Black: An everyday no fail blackest of black liners that nothing else can touch in terms of depth and value for money. When you need a new liner I'd seriously think of giving this a go it's just fab. I know Avon don't always have it but check out ebay if you want to get your mitts on it

Body Treats!

Haus Of Gloi Pumpkin Butter: What can i say, the smell of this is just stunning. Described as cream glowing pumpkin, rich vanilla bean and the tiniest touch of nutmeg. Personally I'd describe it as a yummy delicious almost edible delight which i have been slathering on like mad when i want a treat.

So that's my October Favourites. If you would like to leave a link to yours below then feel free :) Have you tried any of the above products?

Where's the Witch?

I'm not a huge one for fancy dress but last night we attended a Halloween party and as it was fancy dress i thought i'd take the easy option and go as a witch.
After asking about on twitter for recommendations for a vivid purple lipstick i decided on a mix of the Sleek pout paints and after a quick trip to superdrug i was raring to go about creating a bright lipped witchy look.

Here's how it turned out !

I think i might do a little post on the Sleek Pout Paints as i am seriously impressed with them and the versatility of the shades you can make with them.

Have you been entering into the Halloween festivities?

Sleek Moonlit Metals EOTD!

Sleek's molten Metal eyeshadow duo has hit the counters. I'm not really a cream eyeshadow girl but i have to say i really love this one. Perfect for the party season and adding some eye catching drama to your makeup.

Molten Metal Duo RRP £6.99

 Swatches!

EOTD!

This silver duo of Steel & Ash is a gorgeous combination and really looks quite dramatic in real life. The creams are highly pigment and smooth to apply.

As they are a cream they will not last all day without creasing but do i care? Not really :)

I'm now hoping for a fancy dress Xmas party where i can go as an ice queen, this would be perfect.
Have you seen these in your local Superdrug? Do you like the metallic look?

Me, Myself & Eye of the day!

As you will have probably seen by now Sleek cosmetics have recently launched the ltd edition palette Me Myself & Eye.

Me, Myself & Eye Palette!

The colours are a good mix of shimmer and matte shades and rather than a certain group of colours this palette is quite an unusual mix of shades. Including grey, green, purple and red.

Three particular colours that stood out to me are the Golden Silvers, Barry White and the Blue Monday. I love how shimmery these are.

Today i used the palette to create this EOTD which i really like. Colours used were Salt & peppermint, Golden silvers and primal green.

I thought id use some of my other Sleek Cosmetics so used a combination of the Suede & Rose Gold blusher on my cheeks and the Coral Reef Lipstick.

I'm pleased to find a really versatile palette which at first didn't look particularly special but on using it i have found the colours to be nicely pigmented and easy to blend.
Sometimes its good to get a palette that you are not immediately drawn to as it makes you try shades that you wouldn't usually try.

What do you think of this palette?

Friday Night Little Brown Dress!

Last night we went to a wedding reception party and so thought I'd show you my makeup and outfit choice for the night. I decided to wear a dress that i purchased a while ago and had never had the chance to wear.
I got this dress off a little stall in my local market but I've been told it's an All Saints copy.

Wooden Bangles Top Shop

Shoes Forever21

Nails OPI Metro Chic

For my makeup i used Gosh foundation and concealer. Sleek Oh so Special palette and gosh special effects powder eyeshadow. Jemma Kid blusher and bronzer and Gosh Lipgloss

Neutral shades on the eyes with a bit of shimmer and false lashes

 Rosy Cheeks!

I've worn so little makeup these past few weeks that i really enjoyed getting a bit glammed up and i had a great night. I'm really pleased with my DIY hair colour as it has faded a little bit as you can see from the photos and i Love the colour it is now :)

Today i will probably just be chilling out with the kids, wearing jeans and a vest top in fact i cant wait to put my comfy shoes on after wearing heels for a night ha.
Enjoy your weekend & thanks for reading xx

Sleek Makeup Nude Collection! What's the hype?

Sleek Makeup have come up with lots of different palettes but this next launch is looking to be the most popular yet.
The Nude Collection boasts the type of colours that will enhance everybody from porcelain beauties to bronzed babes.

I was very excited to be sent a preview of the new products:

 Nude Palette £6.49

This palette is quite different to anything else i have. For a start it has a lot of matte colours in it which i am really pleased about. Secondly the top row of shades have some really good basic neutrals and highlighters which are somewhat lacking in my collection.
Thirdly the bottom row has a few nice deep colours to create a more smokey eye as well so its a really versatile product.

Suede Blush £4.29

It's no secret that I'm a big fan of the Sleek Makeup blushers and this one is no exception. The colour although a pretty taupe neutral is really pigmented even on my tanned skin. This is quite a matte shade as well and makes a nice everyday cheek colour that goes amazing well with the rest of the collection.

Bare Minimum Pout Polish £4.29

The pout polish smells amazing and feels beautiful and moisturising. The problem for me is that my lips are quite pigmented and the colour in this is very subtle. Therefore it looks pretty much like a clear gloss on my lips unless i put a bit of a neutral lipstick on underneath.

Of course i had to try all my new goodies out immediately and so tried two different looks.

The No Makeup Nude Look!

For the first look i used the matte subtle shades on my eyes Nubuck and Cappuccino, mascara a sweeping of the Suede blusher and the Bare minimum Pout Polish.
2nd Look Soft Smokey Nude!

This second look is adapted by adding the shade mineral earth to the lid and smudged under eyes. I also added a tiny amount of Noir to the outer edges for a bit of definition. I went heavier on the cheeks and added a more neutral lippy under the Pout Paint.

The Nude Collection launches on the 31st August and be purchased from Superdrug or online at Sleek makeup.
I'd put money on it that these are going to be flying off the shelves. What do you think of the colours? Are you like me, a nude girl at heart?
