Mac Dollymix!

It took me ages to get hold of Mac Dollymix, every time i looked online it was out of stock and even when i did manage to get to a Mac counter they had none in stock.
When i did get my hands on it i couldn't see what all the fuss was about but lately i can't get enough of it and been reaching for it all the time.

Such a pretty pink that seems to really brighten my skin. I'd go so far as to say its in my top 5 blushers.

I find Mac blushers very hit and miss on the pigmentation front but this one is great and even has a bit of shimmer thrown in for good measure.

It's so versatile and can give a pretty glow or a full on flush. Definitely one to have in your makeup collection.

Glow get em!

I thought id write a little post on ways to get bright glowy skin. For me personally i find glowy skin a lot more flattering than matte. I always wore matte foundations up to a few years ago but as i am getting older i find matte products seem to sit in any tiny lines or dry patches.

Me sporting the glowy bright look!

These products are my fail safe brightening range that i am constantly using when i want to look healthy, natural and bright.

Fail Safe Products

Alpha H Liquid Gold & Liz Earle Eyebright

Alpha H Liquid Gold: This product is amazing. I only use it about 3 times a week but it has made a huge difference in my skin tone. I apply this at night and wake up with a lovely glow to my skin and pores look tighter and any spots are significantly reduced. If i could suggest one skincare product to try it has to be this.

Liz Earle Eyebright: It's great to have smooth glowy skin but if your eyes look tired and puffy then no matter how good your skin looks you will not look refreshed and healthy. That's where this product comes in.
Soak a cotton pad in the solution and place over the eyes just for a minute or two and it really takes down puffiness and helps to Brighten and sooth the whole eye area, brilliant for those early starts or for those with sensitive eyes.

Liz Earle Skin Base & Nars Orgasm Highlighter

Liz Earle skin base: This tinted moisturiser gives a beautiful natural finish to the skin. It slightly evens things out but more importantly for me it adds a nice luminosity to the skin making it look fresh and bright.

Nars Orgasm Highlighter: I love this to emphasise above the cheekbones with a pretty sheen, i blend this well and it always catches the light and gives a bit of shape to my naturally round cheeks.

Estee Lauder Idealist cooling Illuminator & Benefit EyeBright

Estee Lauder Idealist Cooling Illuminator is amazing for brightening under the eyes. Its light reflective formula hides shadows and the ceramic tip cools and depuffs the delicate under eye area. The cream needs virtually no blending and is a quick and easy way to transform eyes in the mornings.

Benefit EyeBright is a pinky nude shade pencil which works wonders when applied at the inner corners of the eyes, under the brow bone and even in the inner rims. I use this pencil a lot if I'm looking tired.

Hard Candy Living Doll Blusher & Mac Chatterbox Lipstick

Hard Candy Living Doll Blusher is a candy pink mineralised blusher. I love pink on the cheeks to add a pop of colour which instantly brightens the whole face.

Mac Chatterbox lippy is the perfect doll pink which is a fresh glossy colour that is bright but not too in your face.
Glowy Cheeks!

Do you like the glowy look or are you more of a matte girl. Also have you or will you change formulas as you get older?

My Green Eyed Gal EOTD!

What's a girl to do on a dreary Thursday morning? Apart from eating Chocolate pancakes and drink coffee?
But there's only so much eating and drinking i can do so i thought I'd have a play with a couple of green eyeshadows and here's what i came up with:

Products used MUA Shade 3, Mac Naked Lunch, Mac Bows & Curtsy, Mac Black Tied

I have to say i am rather late in jumping on the band wagon for the MUA products. I have had this bright green pigment for ages but just not got round to using it. It has a really pretty sparkle to it and blends beautifully. A bargain price at 99p from superdrug

The obligatory looking down shot!

Of course i added some false lashes to finish the look. These were some random ones that had no name on them but i think they are quite pretty.

It may be a bit full on for sitting around the house but Ive got a good excuse, I'm a beauty blogger right?

MAC Salsa Rose Blusher!

Morning people! I thought I'd do a quick post on Mac Salsa Rose Blusher. I know it's not one of the most popular colours and being a pro product its one that people often overlook.

Salsa Rose

This has to be the brightest most pigmented blusher that i own. It a vivid matte pink with slight berry undertones which is gorgeous but needs a very light hand in application.
After a few failed attempts at wearing this (Think clown face) i eventually found the perfect brush to use with this.
Sigma Duo F15

I'm so pleased that i found a way to make this blusher work as its such a pretty colour when its not overloaded.
Now i just touch the powder with my brush and swirl it onto my cheeks and it applies really easily this way.

Salsa rose has a lot of depth to it and it seems to really brighten up my whole face. I also really like it on bare skin where it looks surprisingly natural.
Have you tried this before? I'd love to know your favourite blusher right now xx

FOTD with Eye Candy Lashes!

If you happened to read yesterdays post you will have seen my little MAC haul so last night i had to have a play with my new products and try out some Eye Candy lashes which i was sent to review. Here's how it came out:

MAC Lucky Green & Bows & Curtsy Shadow

I think the Eye candy really finish off the look. These are priced at £4.95 and available from Boots in lots of great styles. I found them really easy to apply and they felt so light and natural.
These were Style 016 which i don't think i would of necessarily choose myself so I'm pretty impressed with the outcome and I'm keen to try some of the others.

I think they are really pretty even from a distance as they have quite a dramatic look

Winging it!

On the rest of the face i used my MAC something Special Creme Blusher & my new favourite lipstick Ever hip.

I don't usually wear these types of colours on my eyes or this style lashes but i happen to love the end results :) xx

New Mac haul Goodies with Swatches!

Wow my MAC order was delivered at lightening speed. I ordered yesterday and it arrived today. That's what i call great service. I was waiting for the new collections to be released before making this order as i was desperate to get my hands on the much loved Ever hip lipstick. Here's what i got:

Eye shadows in Lucky Green & Bows & Curtsy

I tend to go for neutral browns and golds all the time so purchased a new empty Mac 15 palette with the intention of filling it with greens and blues. I have a few pressed pigments which i have added to this palette to stop it looking so empty and i will be depotting bows & curtsy to add to it as well.

Mineralised eyeshadow in Smoked Ruby

Everhip Lipstick :) I've wanted this for so long its so pretty.

 Something special Cremeblend Blusher!

SWATCHES: Everhip (Top) & Something Special blusher

Dollymix blusher & Salsa Rose from the Pro section

SWATCHES: Dolly mix (top) & Salsa Rose

I've been wanting some brighter blushers in my collection so am really pleased with these two additions. I have placed them in a palette with a few other Mac Blushers and my mini Ben Nye cream blushers. I will be reaching for this palette a lot over the summer.

I can't wait to really use these products and I'm sure you will see them in a FOTD soon. Have you picked up anything from the new collections or do you plan on doing so?
