Glow get em!

I thought id write a little post on ways to get bright glowy skin. For me personally i find glowy skin a lot more flattering than matte. I always wore matte foundations up to a few years ago but as i am getting older i find matte products seem to sit in any tiny lines or dry patches.

Me sporting the glowy bright look!

These products are my fail safe brightening range that i am constantly using when i want to look healthy, natural and bright.

Fail Safe Products

Alpha H Liquid Gold & Liz Earle Eyebright

Alpha H Liquid Gold: This product is amazing. I only use it about 3 times a week but it has made a huge difference in my skin tone. I apply this at night and wake up with a lovely glow to my skin and pores look tighter and any spots are significantly reduced. If i could suggest one skincare product to try it has to be this.

Liz Earle Eyebright: It's great to have smooth glowy skin but if your eyes look tired and puffy then no matter how good your skin looks you will not look refreshed and healthy. That's where this product comes in.
Soak a cotton pad in the solution and place over the eyes just for a minute or two and it really takes down puffiness and helps to Brighten and sooth the whole eye area, brilliant for those early starts or for those with sensitive eyes.

Liz Earle Skin Base & Nars Orgasm Highlighter

Liz Earle skin base: This tinted moisturiser gives a beautiful natural finish to the skin. It slightly evens things out but more importantly for me it adds a nice luminosity to the skin making it look fresh and bright.

Nars Orgasm Highlighter: I love this to emphasise above the cheekbones with a pretty sheen, i blend this well and it always catches the light and gives a bit of shape to my naturally round cheeks.

Estee Lauder Idealist cooling Illuminator & Benefit EyeBright

Estee Lauder Idealist Cooling Illuminator is amazing for brightening under the eyes. Its light reflective formula hides shadows and the ceramic tip cools and depuffs the delicate under eye area. The cream needs virtually no blending and is a quick and easy way to transform eyes in the mornings.

Benefit EyeBright is a pinky nude shade pencil which works wonders when applied at the inner corners of the eyes, under the brow bone and even in the inner rims. I use this pencil a lot if I'm looking tired.

Hard Candy Living Doll Blusher & Mac Chatterbox Lipstick

Hard Candy Living Doll Blusher is a candy pink mineralised blusher. I love pink on the cheeks to add a pop of colour which instantly brightens the whole face.

Mac Chatterbox lippy is the perfect doll pink which is a fresh glossy colour that is bright but not too in your face.
Glowy Cheeks!

Do you like the glowy look or are you more of a matte girl. Also have you or will you change formulas as you get older?

Estee Lauder Cooling Eye Illuminator (RAVE REVIEW)

It's not often that i find a product that i immediately adore. But with the Estee Lauder Cooling Eye Illuminator it really was Love at first sight.

To be honest i wouldn't of taken any notice of this product if it wasn't for the Assistant in Estee Lauder who luckily for me decided to show me on one eye how this works:

Estee Lauder make high claims:

Stating that this products helps 3 of our main concerns:

  • Dark circles.
  • Puffiness.
  • Fine lines.
  • First-ever specially contoured, cooling ceramic-tip applicator
  • Instantly, 88% of women saw brighter, more beautiful eyes
  • Use it every day and dark circles appear lighter

 What did i think?
Well i can honestly say hand on heart that this works better for me than any other brightening eye product that i have tried. It is pricey but its also ticks all the boxes for me in what i want in an eye product. It does everything and more than what i would expect.

The tip of the tube is curved so it fits perfectly around the eye area and it is really cool in temperature so it feels lovely and soothing and cooling as you apply it. The product comes in 2 shades which are tinted. I'm using the lightest one here which is light/medium.

I love the fact that it is literally invisible once blended in so you can wear it with no makeup at all and it makes such a difference.

Take a look at the before, during and end results here:

I found it takes away puffiness it makes lines look less obvious and it brightens like nothing else Ive tried.
I have used it everyday since i got it and is a life saver when I'm in a rush. I wish the photos did it justice. I would love to know anyone else who has tried this and if so are you just as impressed by this as me ???

June Favourites and Emptys!

I thought I'd do a little post of my favourite products for June to show you what I'm loving at the moment.

 JUNE LOVES!

Xen-Tan Mist Intense. I havent reviewed this yet but its a beautiful colour that loads of people have commented on since I've been using it.

Xen Tanned up!

Next on my favourites is the Fushi really good cellulite oil. I have been using this for just a short time but love the stuff and am really enjoying using it. It smells gorgeous and although it's too early to see if there is any difference in my wobbly bits it has been a pleasure to use. Review coming soon

Then the Caudalie tinted moisturiser has been a life saver this last month. It is a dark colour which takes my natural skin tone up a couple of shades and makes me look really healthy and perfect for this warmer weather when I've enjoyed not wearing foundation. Again full review coming soon.

Estee Lauder Idealist cooling eye illuminator This has got to be the best product I've tried in a long time. It's amazing on dark circles it looks invisible but makes a huge difference and reduces puffiness in seconds. Again full review coming soon. All i can say is FANTASTIC.

Macadamia Hair Oil This is a multi function product that makes my hair shine like nothing else. It leaves hair soft, shiny and smelling gorgeous.

So they are my 5 picks for June. Notice the lack of makeup on today's post. I just thought I'd give makeup a back seat today and next month i will concentrate on makeup favourites.

Then we have the few empties that i have. I really am trying to use things up but not having much luck lol.
Burt's Bees Citrus & Ginger Body Wash & Anti blemish Toner

The body wash is lovely and refreshing but and to be honest the whole family have enjoyed using it. I'm not sure if i would buy it again as its a bit pricey for a body wash but lovely if you fancy a little treat.

The toner on the other hand is amazing and i will definitely repurchase. Great for keeping spots at bay and leaves my skin feeling really fresh and clean.

Macadamia Shampoo & Moisturising rinse

I know these are mini sizes but i had to include them as they are gorgeous. They smell amazing and really leave my hair soft and shiny. Full review on these coming very soon too.

So as you can see lots and lots of reviews due very soon. Let me know if there is anything you cant wait to read about and i will do my best to get reviewing. If you have done a monthly favourites let me know i love these types of posts xx

Estee Lauder Pure Colour Lipsticks with swatches !

Ever since i worked opposite the Estee Lauder Counter in Boots i have had a secret craving for the Estee Lauder Lipsticks. There is something about the True Colour Lipsticks that oozes glamour and sophistication.
I think Estee Lauder was the first high end lipstick that i purchased quite a few years ago and they are still up there amongst my favourites all these years on.

The Pure Colour Lipsticks retail at £18 and are available in a vast amount of shades with 2 gorgeous formulations of either satin: Lasting creme or Lustrous: Lasting shimmer.

 Swatches on bare skin

Crystal Nude & Vanilla Truffle

Crystal pink & Coral Fantasy

Vanilla Truffle

 Crystal Nude

 Crystal Pink

 Coral Fantasy

All the lipsticks feel incredibly creamy and moisturising on the lips. You can tell that the product is packed full of great ingredients just from the feel of the product.

They also have an amazing smell, i think it's fig but I'm not 100% sure so don't quote me on it.
I find the lipsticks last about 4 hrs which is pretty normal in my case. Except the Coral Fantasy which is ultra pigmented and lasted a good 6 hrs

I Love the packaging and the fact that you can see the colour on the bottom of the tube so i can find the colour i want in a flash.
I Love the way the lipstick feels and smells.
I Love the way you can build the colour up for either a natural look or a more intense colour.
I Love the pretty Sheen these lipsticks create and the way they don't sit in the lines.
Most of all i Love the colours.

So as you might of guessed i pretty much Love these lippies and can't recommend them enough.
Have you tried any of these and if so what colour do you have?
