Spotlight on Soapy Jo's

Recently i purchased a couple of products from fellow Bath & Body product maker Joanne over at Soapy Jo's.
Now i struggled to choose a couple of items as she has so many amazing looking products on her website here.
In the end i settled for a Spirit Bubblebar which is fragranced in a dupe for the Ghost perfume (An old favourite of mine) which cost £4.49 and smells just like the real fragrance.

I used half a bar in the bath and it gave a lovely soft bubblebath with silky pink water which left my skin nice and soft afterwards.

I also purchased her Pink Sugar Soap which is another favourite fragrance of mine. How gorgeous does this soap look and it is so moisturising.

It lathers up beautifully and i love the fact that with Cold process soaps like these made from scratch you know exactly what you are putting on your skin. Pink sugar is the one fragrance i cant be without and when i used this soap i could smell it on my skin for ages afterwards mmmmm.
I have found lots of other amazingly talented soap makers and i hope to to a few little snippets showcasing some of there products that i have tried.
Do you know of any hand crafted bath & body products that i must try?

Soaps Away!

At the beginning of the the week i decided i was going to try my hand at Cold Process Soaping. If you follow me on Face Book you will have seen that i have made soap before but the Cold Process is a totally different method and one I'd been a bit scared of to be honest.

So i have spent quite a few hrs researching different recipes and ingredients and i decided to go with a recipe from a brilliant book i have recently purchased called A Green Guide to Natural Beauty by Karen Gilbert.

To say I'm really pleased with the results is a bit of an understatement, in fact I'm amazed at how well it came out.

I used a combination of Sweet  Orange Oil & May Chang Essential Oils and it smells deliciously fresh and citrusy.

In the mould

I read that Cold Process can really fade colours so i made sure i used a strong Orange and when it was first in the mould i really wasn't sure.

After making it you need to wait until it firms up enough to cut it so i waited over night

I also had a little left over soap so i made a mini loaf which i can give to friends and family.

Before i started making my own products i had no idea there were different types of soaps. This one contains Coconut Oil, Sunflower oil and olive oil but you can use all types of butters and oils to vary the end results.

The only downside of making CP soap is the fact you have to wait about 6 weeks before using it which for an impatient person like me is hell.

Thanks for reading and have a lovely weekend. PS these are not for sale they are all for meeeeee and a few family members xx

P.S I Love You Lush!

Valentines day is just around the corner and that means LUSH have released another load of gorgeous products. I was sent the most gorgeous little gift set which would make an ideal present or of course a little treat for yourself. P.S I Love You!

I just adore the box, it has such a romantic vintage look to it and would look beautiful on a dressing table.

Inside the box is 4 gorgeous products that hint at sexy playful gestures and smell really soft and feminine.

Sweetheart Soap
Sensual Jasmine, Mandarin and vanilla.
I really like the smell of this and am looking forward to trying it out. It's a new one for me but anything pink and heart shaped always appeals.

Next up is the Soft Coeur Massage Bar.
This is my personal favourite from all the Lush Massage bars and one Ive repurchased a few times. Fragranced with Honey and chocolate  it makes a lovely massage bar and if you cant blag a massage on Valentines day then when can you :)

Silky Underwear
A dusting of Jasmine, Vertivert and cocoa butter powder for silky skin. I have not tried this before but am pleasantly surprised. It feels lovely and leaves skin softly scented. Its not a product id personally use everyday but its a lovely addition to the box and something I'd use on special occasions ;)

It's Raining Men
One of my all time favourite shower gels from Lush.Honey and Toffee are the strongest scents in this and it feels very moisturising and sensual on the skin.

So start hinting now if you like the look of this. In fact sod hinting just go and buy it yourself lol.
Just before i finish this post i want to mention a Bath Ballistic which is a LTD Valentines newbie called The Leap Frog £2.75

This cute frog with the kissable lips was named in honer of 2012 being a leap year and that time when tradition says Women can propose.

Scented with Jasmine, Sandalwood and Rose.
Instructions for use: Pop on your brightest red lippy and run a bath big enough for two throw The leap frog in followed by your other half and jump in as well. Whoever said 3's a crowd was wrong.

OK so they are not the Instructions for use but it could be fun right?

So What are your plans for Valentines? Do you make a big fuss or does it pass by like any other day for you?
xx

Lady Mucks my secret soap !

Morning lovely bloggers, i hope you are all having a great weekend. I'm a little jealous, OK really jealous of you lucky ladies that are going to IMATS today. I wish they held these things nearer me but anyway i want to share a secret.

I ♥ Soap. There i said it. Now for years i have shunned away from soaps believing that they are drying to the skin, that they will strip away my natural oils. Whenever anyone mentioned soap it would conjure up images of old ladies and lavender for some reason.
That was until i stumbled across Lady Mucks website

Lady Mucks sells a vast range of not only soaps but bath bombs, body scrubs, butter bath melts and the list goes on.

My latest purchase is the Almond Milk & Shea soap:

Free from SLS and packed with Shea butter makes this soap one of the most creamy nourishing shower products that i have tried. Add to that the fact that it smells totally Delicious think sweet almonds almost marzipan and you get the picture.
Priced at just £1.99 it's an absolute steal.
This soap leaves my skin so so soft and it is mild enough to use on even sensitive skins.

I could go on and on about a lot of these products. Another favourite is the Cherrylicious body scrub bar which seriously must be tried for a full on shower experience.

If you love handmade pampering treats then this is the website for you. Customer service is amazing and the products just speak for themselves.

Just wondering your thoughts on using soap? Have you come across lady Mucks before?
