Anatomicals Tanatomicals Mousse!

This review is really overdue because as soon as i tried this tan i knew i was on to a winner. The Tanatomicals mousse is described as "The Holy Grail for the deathly pale" I love the funky packaging and the fact that it costs a measly £7 which is a complete bargain.

Before

Instant tan after application

The colour guide is very dark and a bit scary when you first apply it but at least its easy to apply and its obvious if you missed any bits.
The smell is really lovely, fruity and sweet and nothing like any other tan that Ive tried in the past.

Although i was slightly alarmed at the depth of colour on application it washes off to a lovely olive natural colour. It even works really well on my face and it seems to last really well too. I think this is a great alternative product if you are on a bit of a budget and i would happily recommend it.

End Result

The Tanotomicals also do a lotion and a spray tan in a can which i would love to try. Available from ASOS as well as Superdrug.

Xen Tan Dark Mist Intense!

As my holiday approaches I'm starting to get into the holiday spirit and so getting a nice Tan is all part and parcel of the preparations.
You might have seen me mention the Xen Tan Dark Mist Intense as part of my favourites for June but i realised i had not yet reviewed it.

I find the spray really quick and easy to use. After the usual exfoliating i just mist on to areas and then rub in long strokes with a tanning mitt. Starting from the legs upwards and then wait a few minutes to dry. It smells lovely like the rest of the Xen Tan range.

The website states that that it contains a remarkable ingredient that works with the tanner to provide a darker, deeper and longer-lasting olive tan. And best of all it achieves beautifully natural results while remaining completely paraben free.

The Results I have used this product a lot and always had consistently great results. A brilliant instant colour which is a beautiful deep dark olive with no orange undertones at all. It isn't the cheapest of tans but i get about 6 full body applications out of this which is pretty good value.

By the way that dark mark on my leg is a bruise from when i walked into the edge of the bed grrrrr. As you can see the colour is lovely and natural looking even though its dark. Perfect for girls who like to look bronzed.
I use whatevers left on my tanning mitt and apply to my face and ears so i don't end up looking two totally different shades. I never break out or get irritated and it saves pennies on buying a separate facial tanner :)

I added some glowy eye makeup to complete the look.
Xen Tan have so many different choices for Tanning and i have to say i don't think I've come across one yet which i didn't like but it's fun trying out the different formulas and finding out what works best.
Have you tried any of the Xen Tan range and if so which is your favourite ???

Xen Tan meet the Experts !

Xen Tan is one of my all time favourite tanning ranges as some of you will know. I am gutted that i can't attend and meet some of the experts at Manchester in Selfridges where they will be there with a special  pop up tent on 29th May till 4th July.

If you are anywhere nearby then pop in and find out more about the products. A great opportunity to ask lots of questions on how to obtain the perfect tan.

Xen tan have launched a new product called perfect blend which sounds amazing so a chance to see what it's all about. Adds that one to the list of tans to try.
There will also be a competition giveaway with the chance to win a years supply of xen tan products :) What a fabby prize.

I love the fact that companies are really getting out there and mixing with customers. Gone are the days when we have to just pick something of the shelf and hope for the best.
If anyone goes let me know, I'd love to see what I'm missing.

Beauty Lab Tanning lotion !

Another tanning review for you lovely ladies. This time its a range from Beautylab which i had not heard of until quite recently.

I'm always keen to try a new fake tan, products vary so much with the depth of colour, ease of application etc and there are so many different formulas that sometimes its like searching for a needle in a haystack.

Pre Tan Skin Polish £15.00 Peptide Tanning lotion £17.00

The skin polish is nice and does a decent job at exfoliating my skin. It smells nice and fresh and leaves my skin soft and ready for the 2nd step of tanning.

The tanning lotion itself is a non coloured cream. The website states :

A deeply hydrating tanning lotion formulated with a tan inducing peptide to provide a golden sun-kissed and streak-free tan. Blended with rainforest cocoa, rose petal, jasmine and passion flower, it has a hint of guava and melon for a delicious aroma. Loved by all skins.

Benefits: Natural looking tan, builds up gradually and effectively, streak-free & orange-free, moisturising & skin firming, gorgeous smell.

What did i find?
Pro's
Moisturising formula
Spreads easily ( a little goes a long way )
Didn't stain the bedding or clothes
Beautiful colour no orange tones
Non Streaky
Dries very fast
Lasts well and fades evenly

Con's
No colour guide so if you are new to fake tanning you might miss a bit
It does have a slight fake tan smell ( not awful but you can detect it )

As you can see the pro's far out way the cons. I would buy this again :)

As you can see this tan has came out a beautiful deep colour. Baring in mind i applied it and then a second application about 5 days later so it is slightly darker than the first application.

Beauty lab also sell a tinted formula so if you are new to tanning this might be a bit of a better choice for you.

Fake Tan Fan !

I was searching through my stash of products when i noticed i was getting a little overrun with Tanning creams and pre tanning scrubs etc. I decided to put them all together and this is what happened:

Eeek have i become a tanaholic without realising it?

9 Body tans including Xen Tan, Sun-Believable, He-Shi, BeautyLab

6 Tan Maintainers, Face Tan, Moisturisers, Wash off Tan

4 Pre Tanning Body Scrubs

I will be testing out the BeautyLab Tan next week as its the only one out of these that hasn't been road tested yet.
I have reviewed most of these products but if you want to know anything about any of them just let me know.
I go through fazes of being tanned then being natural so my products do seem to last me a while. Saying that i need to start using them up as there are still so many tanning products which i am keen to try out. Including:
Xen Tan Perfect Blend
Rodial Brazilian Tan
St Tropez bronzing spray

Do you use fake tan? Any reccomendations that i should check out? xx

Sun-believable Tan !

Yaay the sun is shining here at last and its time to whip out those legs that have have been hidden away for what seems like an eternity.
Lately i have been going au natural with no fake tan but felt like i wanted a little colour this weekend so decided it would be an ideal time to try out the Sun-believable products that i was sent to try out a while ago.

I received the Try me kit in medium £35 available from Sun-believable which consists of

100ml Scrub me body scrub 100ml Cream me body moisturiser

 100ml Tan me mousse & Sun-believable Mitt

I believe this is a fairly new tan on the market created by the fabulous Leighton Denny in conjunction with the legendary tan king James Harknett and a host of industry experts.
Claims to be a sun kissed golden tone which can last up to 10 days. The name Sun-believable hosts up images of a natural looking tan which is just what i was hoping for.

The scrub itself is lovely to use. Its very grainy and smells absolutely gorgeous. Containing natural walnut shell & Ecuadorian Ivory palm seed and fragranced with a blend of essential oils of sicilian lemon and lime.
As always prep is important for the best results.

The body moisturiser is designed to use after the scrub on any dry areas such as knees, elbows, ankles. Again this smells beautiful and feels so luxurious on the skin. Containing organic coconut oil and vitamin E.

So i exfoliated in the shower and applied a very small amount of the moisturiser on my knees and ankles before starting my tan.

1 pump of mousse

As you can see from the above photo the guide colour is quite dark. It has a very distinct green tinge to it. But it blends really easily in fact its one of the easiest tans Ive applied. It develops in 2-4 hrs.
Using the mitt i spread the tan on in long strokes making sure that i didn't miss anywhere. The guide is great so you can see where you have been.

Results: I can't say how much i love the results. The tan looks so natural, it makes me look healthy but not in a fake tan way. I don't think you can tell I'm wearing tan but i look a lovely colour if that makes sense.

I even applied it on my face and it turned out just a shade darker than my natural skin tone.
If you want to look darker then obviously you can try the Dark but for me medium is perfect. If you are looking for an ultra natural tan that leaves your skin feeling fabulous for summer then this is the one. Highly recommended.

He-Shi Tanning !

Hello guys and gals, as you lot probably already know, i love the bronzed look. Pale just isn't me and so when i was asked if i would like to try out the He-Shi Tanning products i jumped at the chance.

He-Shi Exfoliating Bodywash is a luxurious face and body exfoliator containing fruit AHA's and scrub particles to gently remove dead skin cells whilst micro-dermabrasion crystals smooth the skin in preparation for tanning

This smells gorgeous really fruity and fresh and the particles give a really good thorough scrub without being too harsh. RRP £12.00

He-Shi Express Liquid Tan is a self tanning bronzer which can be used on both the body and the face, it tans instantly on contact with the skin, giving a lovely bronzed complexion.

What did i think?

When i opened the bottle i was a bit surprised as the product is very liquidy it looks like soy sauce to be honest and i have always used either a cream, spray or mousse formula so thought it might be hard to apply.
But as soon as i started to apply the liquid i was genuinely pleased as the liquid spreads so easily and the instant colour was brilliant so i could see exactly where i was applying it.

The colour guide before it develops is a gorgeous natural brown, no orange undertones just similar in colour to a week of being in the sun :)

I didn't apply it to my face but next time i will definitely give it a try. The bonus with this tan is the fact that i could of applied it and gone out without feeling conscious as there were no muddy or green patches like some of the brands i have used. Perfect for a last minute night out.

There was also only a very slight fake tan smell, its definitely one of the least smelling tans Ive used.

The colour developed into a lovely bronzed even tan and i am really pleased with the results.

I haven't tried the moisturiser yet but it again smells lovely so i will be updating you on it in due course. Next i want to try the facial gel as i like to tan my face to match my body.

If you are looking for a great tan whether you are a newby to fake tan or a bit of a fake tan fan like me then this is a great option.
